About the Event
You can’t sell your project until you’ve convinced someone to read it. But the pitching process doesn’t have to be overwhelming. In this class Pilar Alessandra makes it easy. With her user-friendly pitch template, she guides you through ways to communicate your inspiration, story, world and characters. No more nerves or writer-babble. This class will give you confidence and clarity as you focus on what’s special about your project and about you. Pilar Alessandra is a master at helping writers through the writing process. I have taken her workshops and I have hired her in the past as a script consultant. I have also heard her speak at the American Film Market (AFM) on screenplay writing as well as the AFM pitch panel. Pilar started her career as Senior Story Analyst at DreamWorks SKG. In 2001, she opened the Los Angeles-based On the Page Writers’ Studio, dedicated to teaching and consulting with screenwriters and TV writers at all levels. She’s the author of the top-selling scriptwriting book, “The Coffee Break Screenwriter,” and host of the popular “On the Page Podcast.” An in-demand speaker, she’s taught seminars at Disney Animation, ABC, CBS and MTV, and traveled the world teaching in the UK, China, Poland, Vietnam, Colombia, Portugal and South Africa. Pilar’s greatest accomplishment is the success of her students, many of whom have won top competitions such as the Nicholl Fellowship, are working on TV shows such as “The 100,” “Silicon Valley” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and have sold feature films to major studios.
